Johnny Depp may have always been the star of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise but he gets serious A-list competition onscreen in the form of Penelope Cruz's feisty Angelica.
The Spanish actress, 37, sat down with the rest of the cast at a press conference Thursday to discuss the series' latest installment Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.
Playing the daughter of a magic-wielding pirate (not to mention the former flame of Depp's Captain Jack Sparrow), Cruz spends a lot of the movie getting into heated sword fights. Though looking beautiful and battle-ready is enough of a tall order, the actress added an extra level of difficulty to the mix: she waspregnant with her first child during the film’s production.
"We had a lot of preparation before shooting started…we did a lot of choreography together," Cruz said.
