Early life and The Jackson 5 (1958–1975)
A house surrounded by yellow colored grass, flowers, trees, and a light blue colored sky can be seen. The house has white walls, two windows, a white door with a black door frame, and a black roof. In front of the house there is a walk way, yellow grass and multiple colored flowers and memorabilia. In the background, there are two tall trees and a light blue colored sky that has multiple clouds.

Michael Jackson was born on August 29, 1958, the eighth of ten children in an African American working-class family who lived in a small 3-room house in Gary, Indiana,an industrial suburb of Chicago. His mother, Katherine Esther Scruse, was a devout Jehovah's Witness, and his father, Joseph Walter "Joe" Jackson, was a steel mill worker who performed with an R&B band called The Falcons. Jackson had three sisters: Rebbie, La Toya, and Janet, and five brothers: Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, Marlon, and Randy.A sixth brother, Brandon, died shortly after birth.
Jackson had a troubled relationship with his father, Joe.Joseph acknowledged in 2003 that he regularly whipped Jackson as a boy.Jackson stated that he was physically and emotionally abused during incessant rehearsals, though he also credited his father's strict discipline with playing a large role in his success.Jackson first spoke openly about his childhood abuse in an interview with Oprah Winfrey, broadcast in February 1993. He admitted that he had often cried from loneliness and he would vomit on the sight of his father. Jackson's father was also said to have verbally abused Jackson, saying that he had a fat nose on numerous occasions. In fact, Michael Jackson's deep dissatisfaction with his appearance, his nightmares and chronic sleep problems, his tendency to remain hyper-compliant especially with his father, and to remain child-like throughout his adult life are in many ways consistent with the effects of this chronic maltreatment he endured as a young child.[10] Also, U.S.-based research studies on impact of "adverse childhood experiences" or ACEs (e.g. a child being abused, violence in the family, extreme stress of poverty, etc.) have shown that having a number of ACEs exponentially increases the risk of addiction (e.g. a male child with six ACEs has a 4,600%/46-fold increase in risk of addiction), mental illnesses, physical illnesses, and early death.
In an interview with Martin Bashir, later included in the 2003 broadcast of Living with Michael Jackson, Jackson acknowledged that his father hurt him when he was a child, but was nonetheless a "genius", as he admitted his father's strict discipline played a huge role in his success. When Bashir dismissed the positive remark and continued asking about beatings, Jackson put his hand over his face and objected to the questions. He recalled that Joseph sat in a chair with a belt in his hand as he and his siblings rehearsed, and that "if you didn't do it the right way, he would tear you up, really get you
On June 25, 2009, Jackson died while in his bed at his rented mansion at 100 North Carolwood Drive in the Holmby Hills district of Los Angeles. Attempts at resuscitating him by Conrad Murray, his personal physician, were unsuccessful.Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics received a 911 call at 12:22 (PDT, 19:22 UTC), arriving three minutes later at Jackson's location He was reportedly not breathing and CPR was performed.[209] Resuscitation efforts continued en route to the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, and for an hour after arriving there at 1:13 (20:13 UTC). He was pronounced dead at 2:26 local time (21:26 UTC).Jackson's death triggered a global outpouring of grief
“Quitting was not an option, but I think I’m also a realist.“I remember the moment he walked in the MasterChef kitchen. I looked up to Kate and mouthed to her ‘do you think I can do this?’
“I think even then I was so daunted by the task in front of me.”Despite being considered the mum of the house by many of her fellow contestants, McSweeney saw her time on the show as an escape from her domestic responsibilities.
“Being in the MasterChef house was just such a break from my normal life that it was bloody fantastic,” she said.“It was the most self indulgent, selfish, egotistical experience of my life. I didn’t have to look after three kids; I didn’t have to be a wife; I didn’t get phone calls at 3am to pick up my kids because they couldn’t get a taxi. I’ve always done my best to look after my family, but I loved having that time just to cook and when we weren’t cooking we were reading cook books and talking about cooking.”
The former office administrator recently started a traineeship in hospitality at Fraser’s restaurant in Kings Park in Perth.“Every day I learn something new. I almost feel bad getting paid for it,” she laughed.
“I sat down with Chris Taylor, the executive chef at Fraser’s, and after a lot of discussion we realised my strength and talents were better utilised dealing with people.
“My knowledge of food is making me a better front of house person.”
McSweeney’s many MasterChef highlights include impressing Adriano Zumbo with her brownies and travelling to Malaysia to meet Rick Stein, but celebrity chef Nigella Lawson takes the cake, literally.“For me the absolute highlight was meeting Nigella and getting that fantastic feedback that she wanted my recipe and loved my cake,” she said.
“Pretty good for a mum from Yokine.”She tips Sunday’s challenge winner Kate Bracks as the person to beat this series.“I really do think Kate will show everybody how wonderful she is,” she said.“Sometimes it’s not just about being a good cook, but being centred and calm. Kate has all of that. She certainly is my top pick. I also think Hayden (Quinn) and Michael (Weldon) and Mat (Beyer), the three young boys, are certainly going to give her a run for her money. I have to say Ellie is really coming into her own. I think that Ellie, even if she doesn’t win, she will shine.”
Because the eye is quite a strong focal point of the look it’s best to keep the foundation quite light and dewy. A lot of people are scared of bold eye make-up but it is easy to perfect and looks amazing.
1. It’s all about the base
If you keep everything else in your look natural, the eyes will really stand out.
I used Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser SPF 20 for the base. If you’re going to buy a tinted moisturiser, it’s really important to buy one containing SPF as you don’t have to wear one underneath.
Most foundations already contain SPF but not all tinted moisturisers do. You can make your own tinted moisturiser by mixing it with your own foundation.
But make sure the moisturiser you use has an SPF in it too to ensure the moisturiser does not water down the foundation’s SPF.
2. Conceal your imperfections
I used Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection concealer, which does the job and is easy on the purse strings. Apply it down the length of the nose, under the eye and anywhere you need a little bit more coverage. For the brows, I used Avon Glimmerstick Brow Definer.
To create a vibrant eye, I used MAC eyeshadow in Swimming, which is an eye-catching green with a slightly iridescent look. MAC is not an overly expensive range but they are definitely one of the best on the market for longevity.
3. Eye-catching colour
For the under-eye area I used the teal end of the Estee Lauder Eye Shadow Stick. This product also has a pink pencil on the opposite end for another colour option, which is handy so you can create another look for the price of one product.
The pencil is an investment product but we wouldn’t recommend you use both sides at the same time.
For the lashes, I applied Eyeko Big Eye Mascara to frame the eyes. This product is budget-friendly and comes in a great tube, and even better, it prevents smudging. It should also stay put all day long.
Mascaras in tubes tend to have a slightly more glossy feel so are well worth a look.
4. Be cheeky with your look
To create a fresh sun-kissed look, I used Bourjois Bronzer in number 52. A lot of people go wrong with bronzer as they use it to contour the cheekbone area. Use it where the sun hits you – so that’s the forehead, tops of the cheekbones and chin.
On the apples of the cheeks, I used a little more colour. I used Urban Decay Afterglow Glide-On Cheek Tint in Bang as this provides extra glow and is a great look for summer.
Sometimes a powder blusher can appear too matt, but a cream is more natural looking and sinks into the skin nicely.
5. Get fruity with your gloss
To hold the make-up in place and to ensure it stays on all day, I used Sleek Makeup Luminous Pressed Powder, which has slightly iridescent particles to give a nice glow. This product matts down some of the dewiness of the tinted moisturiser we used earlier but still leaves the skin with a slight sheen.
To finish the look, I chose Pixi Lip Booster in Pixie, a sheer orangey red. Colour glosses are essential for the summer because they can make the lips look really striking.
Tween dream Justin Bieber has proved he's a pretty sweet package. At only 16, he's released two platinum albums, amassed more than 5 million online followers and attracted a fierce fan base willing to do anything – even send death threats – to keep him single.
For that, the Stratford, Ontario, native has one special woman to thank: his mom, Pattie. She uploaded footage of her son covering hits from Chris Brown and Usher to YouTube. When Bieber Fever went viral, Usher and Justin Timberlake took notice and began a bidding war over the young YouTube sensation.
Under Usher's guidance, the teen signed on to Island Def Jam records and released his debut album, My World, in 2009. Since then, Bieber has gone on to perform at the White House, released his own 3D movie Never Say Never, and gave the fever to superstars from Kim Kardashian and Katy Perry to Selena Gomez, whom he was caught kissing in the Caribbean. "I feel like I just won the lotto," Bieber has said.
Ashley Fuller Olsen (born June 13, 1986) is an American actress, fashion designer, producer, and author. She co-founded luxury fashion brand The Row and the more affordable line Olsenboye with her twin sister Mary-Kate Olsen and started her own fashion company called Elizabeth and James.
Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen are known for their individual style, but the twins were first famous as Michelle Tanner on Full House. Before turning 10, they had already earned millions, and at 18, took charge of their billion-dollar brand, Dualstar.
While Mary-Kate struggled with anorexia and took a leave of absence from college in 2005, Ashley continued her studies at New York University. Today, her influence as a fashion trendsetter garnered her spreads in Harper's Bazaar, Vogue and Teen Vogue, and with Mary-Kate, she has launched the fashion line, The Row, and its lower-priced counterpart, Elizabeth and James.

Amanda Bynes keeps it sexy at the 2011 MTV Movie Awards held at Universal Studios’ Gibson Amphitheatre on Sunday (June 5) in Universal City, Calif.
The 25-year-old actress squeezed into an Herve Leger dress, vintage earrings, a Nicholai by Nicky Hilton brass fan ring, a Chanel cuff and clutch, and Christian Louboutin shoes. When she got cold, Amanda threw on a Nonoo jacket.
Even the fact that people knew about it beforehand couldn't stop Lily Allen from smiling on her big day.
The 26-year-old songbird swapped vows with Sam Cooper at St. James the Great Church in Gloucestershire, England, on Saturday, according to People. Dad Keith Allen walked her down the aisle. But that wasn't the only big news for the couple...
Carrying a bouquet of white roses, Allen said her I-dos in a gown by French designer Delphine Manivet that boasted three-quarter lace sleeves and an intricately detailed skirt.
Cooper popped the question on Christmas Day last year during a romantic vacay, a bright ray of winter sunshine in the face of a tragic loss some weeks before.
Allen had been excitedly tweeting with fans and friends about her upcoming nuptials.
When one fan asked how she was doing, she wrote, "I'm GREAT, I'm getting MARRIED EEEEEK !!!!!". She left it to her new hubby to spill the rest of the happy news, which he did to the 100 close family and friends who attended the wedding, according to the U.K. Telegraph.
No word whether the "winds of 275 mph in Gloucestershire" that she read about ("please tell me they're lying," she tweeted) ever materialized, but things otherwise went off without a hitch (luckily she lanced the—thank you, Twitter—"huge spot" on her nose beforehand). Congrats to the newlyweds!

Cheryl Cole and ex-husband Ashley secretly met up in London early in May, reveals Now's insider, and again last Tuesday for a private dinner with friends including Sarah Harding and Kimberley Walsh.
Broody Cheryl, 27, was touched when Ashley, 30, called her in LA to tell her he'd become an uncle - his brother Matty and girlfriend Lisa have had a baby girl Livia.
Cheryl's close to Lisa and sent gifts of clothing, flowers and pampering goodies.
‘Her arrival's brought Cheryl and Ashley closer,' says a pal.
‘They now talk on the phone for up to three hours every day. He's now her most trusted confidante.
'Since she was axed from the US X Factor, he really has become her rock.'
A close friend tells Now: ‘They've agreed to have dinner later this month and he offered to cook.
'Right now he's the only one she's talking to and he's trying everything that he can to coax her back into his arms.'
Kate Middleton looked gorgeous at her first Royal engagement with Prince William on Thursday night. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge joined guests at the 10th annual Absolute Return For Kids Gala auction at Kensington Palace and Kate, 29, chatted about her 'surreal' new life.
'She said she is blissfully happy. Her eyes lit up whenever Wills was mentioned. They are in love,' one guest tells The Mirror.
Celebrity party goers - including Kevin Spacey, Jamie Cullum, Jemima Khan, Mariella Fostrup and Liz Hurley - mingled with bankers and hedge fund managers at the swanky event

Peter Andre wants Cheryl Cole to know that Britain still adores her, even though the US hasn't welcomed her with open arms.
'You're strong and loved in this country, come back to the people who love you,' says Pete, 38, who reckons Cheryl's X Factor humiliation could have been avoided.
'The bosses would know before she went over to the States if she was right for the job or not,' he reasons, 'to give her false promises is crushing.
'I know how she feels about being let down by things that are promised to you.'
'It's done a lot in this industry. Thankfully I have great management that cover my back at all times.'
Cheryl, 27, remains in hiding as Nicole Scherzinger takes over her role but Pete believes she should prepare herself for 'bigger and better' things.
'She should sing, do TV, commercials, endorsements and put her fingers in a lot of pies,' he advises.
'I do that and I love my life. With her success rate she'll be huge.'
